Summer Fun For Everyone

Many of us are spending more time outdoors than ever before! We’re enjoying the fresh air and learning more about nature.

Nestled in an undeveloped wooded area of Monroe, sits a hidden gem for you and your whole family. The Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA Family Outdoor Center has been delighting members with its charming atmosphere on 47 acres of land. The possibility for exploration, relaxation and family fun are endless. You’ll find plenty of ways to be active in the outdoors.

The Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA Outdoor Center is on 204 Stanley Road in Monroe. Open to Central Connecticut Coast YMCA Members Memorial Day through Labor Day.

FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT: Computer screens are non-existent at the Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA Family Outdoor Center. Under parent supervision, children can enjoy the outdoors, investigate nature, run, laugh, swim and simply play. The Y Family Outdoor Center has the potential to be your new backyard with pools for family swims!

FOR HEALTHY LIVING: Whether you are looking to unwind in the sun by one of our three pools or get competitive on one of our two tennis courts, our basketball courts, gaga pits or mini golf, there is something for all ages. We even have a little pond for catch and release fishing or paddle boating. Our three pools provide an opportunity for all ages to learn swim and be safe in and around the water. Stroke clinics and lap swim times are available as well as aquatic group exercise classes.

FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY: We have taken numerous steps to facilitate physical distancing at the Y and at our Family Outdoor Center. We are following guidance from the State of Connecticut, the CDC, our Health Department and other YMCAs. As always, we will maintain the highest health and safety standards for you, our volunteers and staff. Social distancing and mask wearing are required at the Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA Family Outdoor Center.

At the Y, you are not just a member – you are part of a community.  Our mission is to help you and your family achieve a balance of spirit, mind and body by encouraging good health, fostering connections with friends and giving back for a stronger community.
