Child Care

The YMCA is focused on building strong kids and teens through its child care and youth programs.  From eight weeks to eighteen years of age, we provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn, grow, and become tomorrow’s leaders.

It’s Forever Summer at Y Day Camp!

2021 Summer Day Camp

The Bridgeport YMCA believes all kids have great potential and deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve.

And while these are unprecedented times, times that challenge us individually and as a community on many levels, the Bridgeport Y day camp provides kids with a safe, healthy, familiar, and fun-filled environment for them to explore, build confidence, develop skills and make lasting friendships and memories, so they can grow as individuals and leaders. For families, day camp offers a peace of mind knowing that your child is in a safe and enriching place.

The health and safety of all Y campers, our team and our volunteers are our first and foremost priority. New safety protocols and sanitization procedures have been adopted to maintain the highest standards. CCCY-2021-Day-Camp-Safety-Plan

Child Care

AGES: 8 weeks – 5 years

Child care programs help youngsters gain self-confidence and social skills while developing positive attitudes about school and learning. Our programs are NAEYC accredited and allow parents to go to work with peace of mind knowing that their children are being cared for in a safe, structured and fun environment.  We are committed to providing a safe, loving environment for your child and aspire to meet his/her needs while promoting physical, social, emotional and cognitive development.

Our programs develop weekly curriculum with age-appropriate activities and indoor and outdoor learning experiences. We also participate in the CACFP food program to ensure that all children receive healthy meals and snacks throughout the day.

After School Program

Engage Beyond the School Day

AGES: K-8th grade

What are your kids doing after school? At YMCA School Age Child Care program kids build self-esteem, values and leadership skills. You’ll know they are growing and exploring their potential; they’ll think they are just having fun! Our After School Program provides a safe environment where kids can focus on developing confidence and character with trained teachers and site directors guiding them. Our programs teach positive values for youth ages 5 to 11 years through role models, group activities and creative thought. Children enjoy supervised activities including homework time and a variety of recreational activities and games rather than the company of the TV set or the local street corner. A snack is also provided for those students. Programs run throughout the school year, with vacation days available too!

We are a provider of after school sites in collaboration with the City of Bridgeport Lighthouse Program.
