Youth Membership

The Y reaches an exceptionally diverse group of youth and their families with the resources and services they need to lead happy, healthy, and productive lives as citizens of our great city.

The Bridgeport YMCA serves its participants in several centers in the City of Bridgeport, as well as afterschool sites.  Our youth swim lessons, swim team, safety around water programming and summer day camp are based out of the main branch at 850 Park Avenue. Child care and youth programs take place at the Bridgeport Y main branch on Park Avenue, the Kolbe Education Center on Kossuth Street and the Ralphola Taylor Community Center on Central Avenue.

Why do so many people feel like they belong at the Y?  We have a wonderful community of people here at the Bridgeport Y!  It’s a positive, supportive environment where community youth can feel comfortable while pursuing the activities that interest them most.

The Bridgeport Y is not a full facility branch.  We encourage adults to explore membership opportunities at other branches in the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA family. Financial assistance is available for youth and families with a demonstrated need. CCC-Y-Financial-Assistance-Application

We have a wonderful community of people here at the Bridgeport Y!  It’s a positive, supportive environment where you and your family can feel comfortable while pursuing the activities that interest your child the most. When you join the Y, you become part of a family of members who support the Y’s philosophy of healthy lifestyles, mutual respect, community spirit, youth leadership, and character development.

You’ll also get to know people in the community at large, as the Y partners with other charitable organizations in our surrounding towns on projects that benefit the common good. And, as a community service organization, the Y thrives on the camaraderie of people who help out by volunteering for events throughout the year.

We hope you will decide to have your child join the Bridgeport YMCA – We all need a place to belong!

Nationwide Membership

At the Y, we are for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. We are dedicated to ensuring our facilities, programs and services are open and welcoming to all.  As part of this effort, we are proud to offer our members access to YMCA facilities across the United States that participate in Nationwide Membership. This way, our members can use the Y as often as they like, making it easier to achieve their health and wellness goals. ALWAYS WELCOME Nationwide Membership enables you to visit any participating YMCA in the United States through membership at your “home” YMCA (your home Y is the local association that enrolled you as a member and collects your membership dues). We offer this because we want to help you reach your health and wellness goals wherever you live, work or travel. This is an essential part of our mission to strengthen communities. IN EVERY COMMUNITY We understand that sometimes it is more convenient for members to take advantage of a Y near their workplace or when they are traveling outside the area of their home Y. With Nationwide Membership, members have the flexibility to use participating Y facilities throughout the United States at no extra charge. To find a Y in another location, go to ymca.net. For those visiting Central Connecticut Coast YMCA branches, some Y activities and programs may be limited at this time.
