Please watch and listen to the video message from Blanca Kazmierczak, Central Connecticut Coast YMCA, Board of Directors Chair.
This is a very difficult time in our lives. Many of us have been going non-stop to serve you and our community. We appreciate your commitment to our Y. We remain hopeful for the future. Thank you for your patience.
The Y needs you and your membership now even more than ever.
While we are temporarily closed, all memberships are on hold. We are not charging your account.
To maintain your Y membership through this crisis. Please email Diana Liptak and tell us it’s ok to keep your membership active.
You’ve enjoyed all that the Y offers and brings to you and your family. With your help, we will return to the Y that we all love.
Please stay safe and healthy.
Dear Y Members, please watch and listen to the video message from Tim Bartlett, Central Connecticut Coast YMCA, Senior Vice President & COO.
The Fairfield YMCA, a branch of the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA, needs you to maintain your membership!
All of us are absorbing the impact of COVID-19 on our lives and figuring out how to adjust to this sudden and dramatically changing situation. Here at the Y, we are working very hard during this crisis to continue to serve our communities’ most fragile people and families, retain our staff and pay rather significant fixed costs until we can all get back to our normal lives.
The Y needs your membership now even more than ever. While we are temporarily closed, all memberships are on hold. No accounts will be charged. However, the single biggest way for us to maintain stability is for you to maintain your Y membership through this crisis. Please email us and tell us it’s ok to keep your membership active.
We know this situation has also impacted you and your family! We’re here for you.
You’ve enjoyed all that the Y offers and brings to you and your family in the past. With you, we hope to return to the Y that we all love. Right now, we need you to please stay with us. Please keep your Y membership. The Y is here for you and for our community.
Thank you for your participation in the Y now and always. Please stay safe and healthy.
At the Fairfield YMCA, the safety and well-being of our members, volunteers, staff and our broader community have always been our top priority.
We have been diligently monitoring all national and local updates surrounding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation. In order to best ensure the health of our entire Y community, we are following Governor Lamont’s order to temporarily close the Fairfield YMCA at 841 Old Post Road to the public effective March 16, 2020, 7:30pm.
During this closure, you can expect regular updates from us via email, on our website and in social media channels: fairfieldy.org Facebook.
We are asking everyone to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines and take their own measures to protect themselves, including not putting themselves in situations with large crowds or where they come in close contact with others, staying home if they do not feel well, frequently washing their hands with soap and water and covering their coughs and sneezes.
We will continue to work with the health department and local physicians to determine what other actions, if any, would be prudent on our part and when it will be safe to reopen our facilities.
Thank you for understanding as we navigate this evolving and challenging situation.
Diana Liptak, Executive Director
We understand that you may have questions about the temporary closure of the Fairfield YMCA:
When will the Y open again?
We have planned a two-week closure at this time. The Y will reassess the situation and will update members regarding the status of facilities and programming.
Have any Fairfield YMCA members tested positive for COVID-19?
No. At this time, we are not aware of any members, volunteers, staff, or participants who have tested positive for COVID-19.
What is the Y doing during the closure?
Several Y branches are working with the State of Connecticut, area hospitals and emergency personnel to provide child care services to their families. The Fairfield YMCA will be cleaning and sanitizing the Aquatic and Wellness center, Group Exercise rooms, Preschool and After School rooms, and Locker Rooms. You can expect regular updates from us via email, website, and social media channels: fairfieldy.org (Facebook)
What about my membership?
We know that you will not be able to use the Y like you did before. Therefore, we will NOT draft membership dues on the 1st or 15th if the YMCA is not open. There is no need to put your membership on hold. Once we reopen, we will again draft per our policy on the 1st or 15th depending on your schedule.
What can I do to help the YMCA continue to help our community?
Keep your membership active. If you would, we’d ask that you please email or call the Fairfield YMCA, 203-255-2834 or email@example.com to CONTINUE your membership. This will allow us to continue to support our neighbors who are struggling.
Donate. Our community is resilient but will look to the YMCA as a safety net. Please consider helping by making a donation to our 2020 Annual Campaign
