Half-Day Swim School

A great way for your child to learn to swim or improve their strokes with two lessons each day! Your child will swim, learn water safety, enjoy a snack, and have lots of fun!

Y Vacation Club

No School, No Worries!

We strongly believe that every child needs a safe and fun experience each and every day. Our program is designed to provide an environment where each child can learn and grow through a wide variety of exciting activities that promote youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We maintain a strong commitment to building character in youth through our four core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility.

Participants will engage in organized play activities, sports programs, arts, and crafts. The program will meet in the Gym in the morning at the Fairfield YMCA and end there as well. Please pack 2 Snacks and Lunch for each participant. The snack is not provided!


  • Inflatables in the Gym.
  • Swim time in the YMCA Pool during pm. Pack swimsuit and towel.
  • Arts and Crafts projects and camp games.

AGES: grades K-6

WHEN: December 23, 26, 27, 30

TIME: session: 8 am – 1 pm. PM session: 1 pm – 6 pm

FEE: Members $40 Half Day, $80 Full Day / Community Members $45 Half Day, $90 Full Day


You don’t have to be a Fairfield resident to take part in the program. We welcome all participants from neighboring towns.

Life Skills Save Lives


If you’re 15 or older and looking for a great part-time job or a challenging career, that’s in demand, the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Program is one of the best places to start.

Learning is fun and easy! Through videos, group discussion, and hands-on practice, you’ll learn—

  • Rescue skills for use in the water and on land.
  • First aid and professional rescuer CPR/AED training to help you prepare for an emergency.
  • Professional lifeguard responsibilities.
  • Surveillance skills to help you recognize and prevent injuries.


  • Swim a minimum of 550 yards continuously in a prone position
  • Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs
  • Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds
  • Swim 20 yards, feet-first surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object, return to surface swim 20 yards, hold an object with both hands keeping face at or near pool surface
  • Exit the water without using a ladder or steps
  • Swim 5 yards, submerge and retrieve three dive rings placed 5 yards apart in 4 to 7 feet of water, resurface, and swim 5 yards to the side of the pool

We will watch your child while you Christmas shop!

Children will have fun while parents get their shopping done! Dinner will be provided and children will enjoy the gym, crafts, a movie, and swimming so don’t forget your swimsuit. All proceeds collected will go to the Fairfield Y Annual Campaign.

FEE: $25 first child. Sibling discount available

Y Leaders Club

Calling all Fairfield teenagers!

Leaders Club provides high school students with extensive leadership training, offering opportunities for service to the YMCA and the community. Leaders Club also serves as a recruiting program for future Y professionals! We are here to develop leaders, fostering with them a culture of service in addition to knowledge and training that will help them better serve others and shape a healthy and productive life for themselves. Leaders Club meets once a week. Members also participate in social events, service projects and have the opportunity to go on several trips. Leaders Club provides a safe, genuine place for high schoolers and helps direct their energy to positive outcomes.
