Walk with us to commemorate 178 Years of Strengthening Communities

HAPPY 178th BIRTHDAY, YMCA! Founders Day Challenge

Choose a time and place that works best for you and your family! Invite your friends and neighbors to join, too. Enjoy a walk with others connected to the YMCA. We’re hoping to gather at least 178 walkers!

Monday, June 6, 2022

11:00am Join the Stratford Y team to walk around the neighborhood. Rain or shine. No registration required. Please dress appropriately with sneakers and bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.

12:30pm Meet at the Woodruff Family YMCA playground for a walk to celebrate the Y’s Birthday. Share your Y story and sing Happy Birthday.

2:00pm Join the Lakewood-Trumbull Y Health & Wellness Team who will be start their walk at the Y, 20 Trefoil Drive in Trumbull

2:00pm At Foote Park on Melrose Place in Branford, the Soundview Family Y will be meeting for a walk! Refreshments and birthday hats will be provided. Register online or contact Member Services at 203 481 9622.

3:00 pm Our Valley Y / Bradley School after schoolers will take an afternoon walk around the neighborhood and athletic fields. We’re sure they’ll be singing one of the favorite songs.

Couch to 5K is back!

If you’ve always wanted to run, but don’t know how to start, now is your chance! The program starts slowly, three times a week, and works up to a 5K, culminating in participation at the Trumbull Rotary’s Sunset Run in July. We’ll start you off on May 14 then meet weekly on Saturdays at 10am.

FEE: No charge for the training! The 5K race fee will be discounted to our Y team!

YMCA360 ON-DEMAND AND LIVE

These programs are free to all full-facility members of the Central Connecticut Coast YMCAs.

Members can reserve a space in a class on our schedule page. Space is limited so we encourage you to sign up ahead of time.

Open gym time is available at the Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA in our half court basketball gym.

The Lakewood– Trumbull YMCA half court basketball gym now has open hours available for our members to shoot some hoops and have some fun. Basketballs are available for you to use. We encourage social distancing. Youth under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult.

As a New Y Member, we would like you to achieve your wellness goals and get the most out of your Y investment. Please sign up for F.I.T. (Free Introductory Training) Sessions so that we can help you get started.

  • Time to get to know each other. Your dedicated F.I.T. Coach is here to serve you!
  • Understanding your goals and expectations together so that we can develop an action plan to ensure your success.
  • Answer any questions you may have about wellness, equipment, and our facility.
  • Teach some basic tips so you can hit the ground running.
  • Review your progress toward your wellness goals and expectations. Offer some innovative tips to help you progress even faster and discuss potential barriers.
  • Start working towards your wellness goals and having some fun!
  • An introduction to our Personal Training Program.

It’s a Big Dill

Play Pickleball at the Y!

Pickleball is played on a court with a net lowered to 34″ at center. It’s played with a perforated plastic whiffle ball and composite paddle.

It’s easy for beginners, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced, competitive game for the experienced.

Members can reserve a spot on our scheduling page. Space is limited and we encourage social distancing. We have balls and paddles to use or you can bring your own. The court is set up in the basketball gym at our Family Program Center.

So You Can Balance the Important Things.

BALANCE & FLEX TOGETHER will grow you longer and stronger with an invigorating 60-minute mind-body workout. It incorporates yoga and Pilates fundamentals with athletic training for balance, mobility, flexibility and the core. Strength Train Together

So You Can Be Strong for Them!

STRENGTH TRAIN TOGETHER maximizes your workout results within 60 minutes of impactful strength training. You’ll get stronger while improving movement when you combine traditional strength training with functional exercises using an adjustable barbell, weights and body weight. Getting Started Details

Supporting Wellness Together

This program is designed to help those seeking a healthier weight to achieve their goals by making small, modest changes to their daily behaviors and form sustainable, healthy habits. Participants will build skills for a successful lifestyle change.

Program Overview:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Tools, knowledge and group support will be provided to help you develop plans that support your weight loss goals.
