Are You Whistle Worthy?

Lifeguards talkingLifeguard Certification Course at the Stratford YMCA

This course is designed to give participants the basic skills and knowledge needed to be lifeguards in pools and aquatic environments. This comprehensive course offers up to date information on how to guard, anticipate, and prevent problems and to take actions to help those in need. CPR, First Aid, AED, and O2 certifications are included in the cost of the program. Participants must pass a swim test on the first day of class in order to remain registered. All class times are required for certification in addition to the completion of online prerequisite courses prior to the first day of class.

AGES: 16+
WHEN: Friday, July 26– 6:00 to 8:00 PM
Saturday, July 27– 12:00 to 5:00 PM
Sunday, July 28– 12:00 to 4:00 PM
FEE: Members- $275
Non-Members- $375

Kids On The Move

Jumping boyKids Recreation Activities now at the Stratford YMCA for the 2019 summer!

Kids Fit – This 8-week program is designed to get kids moving and active while having fun, incorporating basic aerobic exercises and physical activities to get their hearts pumping and interests engaged. Our goal is to ensure all children participating in YMCA programming have a solid foundation for a healthy future. Ages 6 to 12.

Intro to Sports – Eager to learn how to play a variety of sports? Try Introduction to Sports – an 8-week program which will introduce kids to the rules and how to play a variety of sports including basketball, soccer, volleyball, and track. Ages 6 to 12.

WHEN:

Kids Fit – Saturdays, 12:30-1:15 pm

Intro To Sports – Tuesdays/Thursdays, 4:30 to 5:45 pm

FEES: Free for members, $40.00 for community members

Summer Day Camp

We provide a happy, healthy environment for children to learn and grow. At YMCA Summer Day Camp, participants gain a sense of accomplishment, build relationships and find their sense of belonging. It’s a opportunity for physical, social, emotional and cognitive learning experiences. For families, camp offers a peace of mind knowing that your child is in a safe and enriching place.

If your child is 14-15 years of age, they may be interested in our Counselor in Training program. Snow! Gotta Work? Y Worry!

Y Fun Club

On days when Stratford Public Schools are closed for the entire day, due to inclement weather, children enrolled in our Before and Afterschool programs may attend our full day Y Fun Club. Students can spend the day in a safe and fun environment challenging their friends to board games, creating art projects, swimming, and much more.

Pre-register today for our Y Fun Club, space is limited.  Fees are paid in advance for the next inclement weather day.  Any unused Y Fun Club days will be credited to your SACC account in May.  If the Y Fun Club is in session and you choose not to send your child, you will not be refunded for that day.

TIME:  8 am—6 pm (weather permitting)

WHO:  School Age Child Care Participants Grades K-6

FEES:  $50.00 per day as a member of the Y in addition to your current SACC tuition / $100.00 per day as a community member in addition to your current SACC tuition.  Any unused Y Fun Club days will be credited to your SACC account in May.  If the Y Fun Club is in session and you choose not to send your child, you will not be refunded for that day.

BRING:  Children need to bring a nut-free lunch, a bathing suit and towel, and appropriate clothes to play outdoors (snow clothes, extra pants, socks, boots, hats, gloves, etc.). We are not responsible for lost or stolen items, so please leave your electronics at home.
