Join us for a healthy and fun event for children! Everyone leaves with a piece of art that they have created! Children will paint a picture, sip healthy smoothies, and share their talents with the group. Please register in advance as space is limited.

Let our YMCA staff lead your kids on October 4 in fun group games, swim time, crafts, dinner, and other activities while making some new friends!

AGES: 5-12

WHEN: Friday, October 4, 2019

TIME: 5:30 pm-8:30 pm

FEE: Members $10 / CommunityMembers $20

REGISTRATION: Preregistration is required. Registration ends two days before the event so we can staff properly.

BRING: Please bring a suit & towel.

ADDITIONAL INFO: All participants not currently in the before/after school program or summer camp program will need to complete a registration packet, provide a current health form, and medication/medication authorization form, if needed, prior to attending the Parent Night Out.


Making Movies A Splash

Catch a flick in the pool at the Stratford YMCA with the whole family. The movie will be projected onto the pool wall and the entire pool will be reserved for this event. Bring your own float and enjoy a Friday night.

  • Families are allowed to bring their own floats that can fit 1 to 2 people maximum
  • Please bring your own bathing suit and towel
  • All children who have not taken a swim test will need to do so before the movie. Children who have passed the swim test will receive a wrist band on the pool deck
  • Swim testing will begin at 6:00 pm
  • All family members participating must be registered
  • The movie starts at 6:30 pm

C’mon, Let’s Stay Healthy

Join us! We’ve got some fun activities planned that highlight the importance of the regular physical activity to maintain a healthy spirit, mind, and body. Invite a friend!  This event will offer free blood pressure screenings, nutrition education, senior resource vendors, and much more!

Members and guests are encouraged to contribute to our potluck by providing a dish to share with everyone.  Please be reminded we are a nut free location.

Even though schools are closed, the Stratford YMCA is here for your child care needs. Drop your child off with our experienced staff for a fun-filled day of games, activities, arts & crafts, swimming, and more!

Compete In The Fast Lane

Torpedoes will develop and learn the fundamentals and techniques in the 4 competitive strokes; backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke and freestyle starts, plus skills for turns, diving, teamwork, and most importantly ENJOYMENT through swimming. Swimmers are also introduced to competition through USA Swimming and YMCA Swimming with the goal that all swimmers will enjoy the experience and look forward to more.

This program is designed to help those seeking a healthier weight to achieve their goals by making small, modest changes to their daily behaviors and form sustainable, healthy habits. Participants will build skills for a successful lifestyle change.

Program Overview: 

  • 12 weeks / 1 session per week
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Tools, knowledge and group support will be provided to help you develop plans that support your weight loss goals.

Healthy Thru The Holidays

NAEYC Accredited Preschool Program

Learn Grow Thrive

AGES: 3-4 years

Our preschool program uses the CT Preschool Curriculum and Assessment Framework. Our preschool provides a wide variety of opportunities for each child to explore and learn in a safe and nurturing environment designed to meet each child’s individual need.

Activities include:

  • Center-based learning
  • Indoor/outdoor movement
  • Arts and crafts
  • Science
  • Field trips
  • Storytime
  • Music and movement
  • Circle time with Preschool learning and Kindergarten readiness

To be enrolled, children must be three years of age by December 31 and must be fully toilet trained. A $50 non-refundable Family Registration Fee is due at the time of registration.

Half-Day Preschool: 9:00 am – 12:45 pm

Full-Day Preschool: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

Extended Day Preschool: 7:00 am – 6:00 pm
