Ignite Your Child’s Potential

During these challenging times when your regular routine seems to change on a daily basis, one thing remains the same: your child needs a safe, enriching place to go when school is not in session plus before and after school day.

While the school year may look different than before, our program continues to be a familiar place where children can be safe. The health and safety of your child, your family our staff and our community is our top priority! 2020 2021 SACC Safety Plan

As an organization dedicated to youth development, we are working closely with the Board of Education! We know how important it is for a child to have an enriching place for learning and growth, both in and out of school. And we’re happy to be able to provide that place, allowing your child’s social, emotional, physical and academic journey to continue long. Are also proud to be able to provide you and your family with the services required to remain healthy.

LEARNING OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

Y LEARNING CENTER

With all of the uncertainty around how school will happen, two things are for sure — kids need to learn and parents need to work. Our new Y Learning Center at the Stratford Y allows children to attend remote school classes supervised by Y staff, so parents can have peace of mind while at work.

Students in grades K-6 will be provided with a quiet and supported place to attend virtual classes.  Outside of remote school classes, Y staff will lead arts and STEM activities, physical activity, swim time, Gaga, and archery.  Our staff are role models with a passion for working with children. All staff go through a rigorous interview process with reference and background checks before being offered employment. They are trained in First Aid/CPR, Medication Administration, Child Abuse recognition and prevention, as well as child development.

The Y Learning Center is state-licensed by the Office of Early Childhood and will follow all CDC and state guidelines regarding group size and mask wearing. Care4Kids is accepted and financial aid is available for those who qualify.   Weekly payment plans available.

Monday & Tuesday, Thursday & Friday, and Wednesday plans are available.   Students will need to provide their own computer and headphones.  Please bring a nut-free lunch, a bathing suit, a towel and appropriate clothes for outdoor play.  Our goal is to keep students outside as much as possible!  The SACC Safety Plan will be followed by the Y Learning Center.  Call or visit our website to learn more and enroll your child today!

  • Choose Your Plan: 8:30 AM-3:30 PM ($375/ month for members for 2 days/week, $188/ month for Wednesdays) OR 7:15-5:30 PM  ($450/ month for members for 2 days/week, $225/ month for Wednesdays)
  • Choose Your Cohorts: Monday & Tuesday |  Wednesday  |  Thursday & Friday

BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL

We strive to meet the needs of our families while providing quality experiences for the children in our programs. Where and how children spend their time is vital to their growth and success in life.

FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

We help kids reach their potential and thrive in a safe, trustworthy setting. We offer a curriculum that aligns with the school day and supports growth in literacy, science, math, science, engineering, and technology (STEM) while infusing the arts, physical activity, and fun. We teach kids confidence, encourage self-expression and enrich social development. Providing our youth with the support, encouragement and positive role models that they need, will not only increase their ability to succeed in school but in life. For families, we offer peace of mind knowing that your child is in a safe and educational program building new relationships and achieving more.

FOR HEALTHY LIVING

As a leading nonprofit committed to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, supporting their social-emotional, cognitive and physical development. The Central Connecticut Coast YMCA continues to give youth an enriching and safe experience. Our experienced and caring staff and volunteers model the positive core Y values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility that help build character. Our core values are woven throughout our child care program to create a warm, nurturing, home away from home. Your child’s growth, development, and education are important to us, as we do our best to ensure their future is bright.

FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Everyone belongs at the Y. To ensure that all youth have the chance to participate, the Y offers financial assistance to those in need. Please talk with us to learn more.
