Fitness activities and sports at the Y build character and self-esteem. Participants cultivate values, skills and relationships that lead to positive behaviors, better health and educational achievement. Kids will not only learn the fundamentals and how to work together, but also who they are and what they can achieve.
Adaptive Swim Experience
The focus for our Adaptive Swim Experience program is to help adults, kids and families learn an important life skill and support them in gaining the knowledge, ability, and stamina to become strong and confident swimmers.
Y instructors use child-centered methods and flexible teaching to deliver instruction children of all abilities. This one-on-one program is designed to give the swimmer individualized attention needed to address their needs.

Swim With A Purpose
Make waves in your fitness goals!
Under the guidance of a coach, Swim Fit is a lap swim program that has organized workouts for individuals seeking a lap swim fitness regimen. Workouts range from 2,200- 3,500 yards of mainly freestyle stroke. This program meets Three times a week and runs for 8 Weeks.

Kid’s Paint and Sip
Join us for a healthy, safe and fun event for children! Everyone leaves with a piece of art that they have created!
Children will paint a picture, sip healthy smoothies, and share their talents with the group. Masks are required. For more information, please contact Ashley at email@example.com.

Leading with Confidence
Leaders Club is a character and leadership development program. This program serves youth, ages 10 to 18. It is organized for the purpose of providing knowledge, training and experiences to teens. Leaders Club will help participants become strong leaders in their communities, foster a spirit of serving others and shape a healthy lifestyle in Mind, Body and Spirit.

Y Stands For Youth
Youth in our Branch Wellness Center
Our Youth Wellness Orientation Bracelet Program is designed for youth members ages 10-13 who would like to use our Wellness Center while their parent is in the room. Youth will be given FREE training with one of our Wellness Coaches to learn about each aspect of the Wellness Center. Youth members will learn proper technique, safety, and etiquette of gym fitness. Schedule your appointment today at the Member Welcome Center.
Wellness Center: Yellow Bracelet
Youth members, 10-13 years of age are permitted to exercise on the cardiovascular equipment with a parent after completing a free orientation with a Wellness Coach. The youth member must wear a yellow wristband when working out in the Branch.
Wellness Center: Blue Bracelet
Youth members, 12-13 years of age are permitted to exercise on the strength equipment with a parent after completing a free orientation with a Wellness Coach. The youth member must wear a blue wristband when working out in the Branch. Prerequisite: Must have completed yellow bracelet training.

Compete In The Fast Lane
Become a member of the BSY Torpedo Swim Team at the Stratford YMCA!
Torpedoes will develop and learn the fundamentals and techniques in the 4 competitive strokes; backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke and freestyle starts, plus skills for turns, diving, teamwork, and most importantly ENJOYMENT through swimming. Swimmers are also introduced to competition through USA Swimming and YMCA Swimming with the goal that all swimmers will enjoy the experience and look forward to more.
