WHO WE ARE
The Central Connecticut Coast YMCA is a charitable, not-for-profit organization dedicated to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Serving 25 towns and cities in Greater Bridgeport, New Haven, and at YMCA Camp Hi-Rock (Mount Washington, MA), the Y helps children, families, and adults learn, grow, and thrive.
We are an inclusive organization open to all, guided by Judeo-Christian principles to build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for everyone.
Learn more about our impact in the 2024 Community Impact Report, 2024 Annual Financial Report, and President’s Newsletters.
OUR HISTORY
Founded in 1859, the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA began with a small group of businessmen in New Haven and no building of its own. Today, with 11 branches serving 75,000 people across 25 towns, we remain dedicated to strengthening communities, supporting families, and helping youth thrive.
Guided by our Boards of Directors, Managers, and Trustees, we identify needs, build capacity, and deliver programs that create lasting impact. From teaching English to immigrants in the early 1900s to fostering strong values in today’s youth, the Y has a proud history of service—and a lasting commitment to building character and improving lives.

Volunteer Leadership
