This program offers options to play a game they already love, with the ability to grow more with guidance. We will play friendly pickup games with a supportive and knowledgeable instructor.

Gotta Catch Them All

Experience the fun, thought-provoking game that is Pokémon TCG (Trading Card Game).  Bring your cards, play mats and other game accessories you already own. FAMILY FUN FOR EVERYONE

Parents Night Out at the Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA

You might initially think of this as a night out for the parents, but it’s really a night out for your kids! The kids, Kindergarten-5th grade, will be involved in games, arts and crafts, and structured free play. The Y will provide them with a pizza dinner. Now, on the plus side…you get to have a little down time to yourself or enjoy a night out!

Build excitement for reading while enhancing literacy skills, including tracking, fluency and comprehension. Fourth and fifth grade students will enjoy read aloud, silent reading time, and practicing reading strategies along with continuous scaffolding to help reach/exceed their personal goals.

Outdoor Center – Summer Season

ODC Resized 20190526 145123The Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA Outdoor Center is opening this summer to Central Connecticut Coast YMCA Members!

There’s something for everyone on our 47 acres located on 204 Stanley Drive in Monroe! Whether you are looking to unwind in the sun by one of our three pools, enjoy a picnic, learn to swim, get competitive on our basketball courts or gaga pits, take a hike or embark out on our lake in paddleboats. The fun, relaxation and exploration is endless!

This membership amenity is available to Central Connecticut Coast YMCA Adult, Couple, Family, Single Parent Family, Senior, Senior Couple and Renew Active members, only. Outdoor Center guest passes will be available to for purchase. (Standard guest passes are invalid.) Youth must have Central Connecticut Coast YMCA membership and be supervised by an adult Central Connecticut Coast YMCA member.

June 7-August 24 / Monday-Friday 4:30pm-8pm / Saturday 9am-6pm / Sunday 9am-4pm

Amenities include:

  • Outdoor Center grounds for picnics and hiking
  • Pool and pool areas. All Central Connecticut Coast YMCA Aquatic guidelines apply.

The Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA has two amazing facilities that offer a variety of party options to celebrate your child’s next birthday!  Choose one of our year-round, seasonal, indoor, or outdoor parties.  Our enthusiastic and experienced staff will work closely with you to customize the activities and space to create a fantastic birthday!  To ensure you have memories that last a lifetime, our friendly staff is here to help you from the moment you arrive until all your guests depart.

Birthday children may have up to 21 guests, and the parents can stay for the fun! All parties will have 2 hours to enjoy our facilities.

Make Use of the Y, We’ll Watch the Kids

Know your child is safe and happy while you attend a group exercise class or workout! Child Watch allows you to exercise while your children play in a supervised area. Anyone using Child Watch must be in the building at all times and must have a family membership. There is a 2 hour per visit time limit.

WHO: Available for any child ages 6 weeks to 12 years with a family membership.

Open gym time is available at the Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA in our half court basketball gym.

The Lakewood– Trumbull YMCA half court basketball gym now has open hours available for our members to shoot some hoops and have some fun. Basketballs are available for you to use. We encourage social distancing. Youth under the age of 12 must be supervised by an adult.

 


Y Stands For Youth

Youth in our Branch Wellness Center

Our Youth Wellness Orientation Bracelet Program is designed for youth members ages 10-13 who would like to use our Wellness Center while their parent is in the room. Youth will be given FREE training with one of our Wellness Coaches to learn about each aspect of the Wellness Center. Youth members will learn proper technique, safety, and etiquette of gym fitness. Schedule your appointment today at the Member Welcome Center.

Wellness Center: Yellow Bracelet

Youth members, 10-13 years of age are permitted to exercise on the cardiovascular equipment with a parent after completing a free orientation with a Wellness Coach. The youth member must wear a yellow wristband when working out in the Branch.

Wellness Center: Blue Bracelet

Youth members, 12-13 years of age are permitted to exercise on the strength equipment with a parent after completing a free orientation with a Wellness Coach. The youth member must wear a blue wristband when working out in the Branch. Prerequisite: Must have completed yellow bracelet training.

Martial Arts

The Lakewood-Trumbull YMCA has a long tradition using the martial arts style of Cheezic Tang Soo Do, developing physical defense, high personal standards, respect and discipline of mind, body, and spirit. Our 9th Degree Belt, Master David DeGuzman, leads the students in self-defense, forms, weapons, sparring, and board breaking. We offer a variety of classes beginning at age 4. There are even summer clinics and occasional tournaments!

Camp and Outdoor Center

Our facility is open in the summer. We offer summer programs, group and private swim lessons, pool parties, and group rentals.

Our Camp and Outdoor Center offers 3 pools, boating, tennis, basketball, rental, birthday parties, swim lessons and is home to our summer day camp, Camp Tepee.
